Crappy Weather = More Fun for Dogs

One good thing about the crappy weather is that the dogs have more fun and I actually have more fun watching them.  The rain keeps the solar powered dog walkers home and we have the entire park to ourselves.

The dogs got to spread out so to speak and behave like, well, animals.  Since very few other people ventured to the park I was able to let the dogs run and wrestle and be much louder than I usually would if the park was crowded.

Two big groups today - lots of people calling at the last minute and other dog walkers getting sick added more fun.  Bruin, Whistler, Wilbur, Everest, Copper Duck Dog, Joey, Ryder, Rover LuLu, Aspen and Kip enjoyed getting soggy in the morning.

Lulu, who is a leopard dog, likes to play rough and especially likes to play with Wilbur like he is prey.  She would take a running leap at him, toss him around and then was surprised when he fought back.  He is surprisingly fast and agile for a pug.  Aspen also took a couple running lunges at him too.  She is growing so fast that she can almost take him (if she gets him from behind of course). Bruin smelled the treats that Rover's dad gave me yesterday so he was my love bug for the walk.  Ryder was so cold and wet when he got back to the truck he was shivering.  Poor little dickens!

The afternoon group was just as excited to be able to be free at the park.  This group was even funnier as we had Kensi and Aspen (both six month old females) and R2 (about 8 or so months), Sidney (who believes he is still 7 or 8 months old) and Josie (who acted like she was a puppy today).  These five chased and wrestled each other for over an hour.  Sidney is much older and much bigger than the pups but he was so gentle in a rough and tumble kind of way that they all kept coming back for more.  He was like the uncle at the pool who picks all the kids up and throws them in the water.

Even Mr. Serious Frank was running and bouncing in the grass.  Sam was tired today so she was my special girl and stayed really close.  Gabby and Pina played the part of hostesses and if we did run into anyone they were right there with the greetings.

Cold and wet and definitely smelly but a good day.  Thanks to all my friends for behaving.
