Ahhh!! Fresh snow and -8 C.  Spring in Calgary.

As there are still a lot of dogs on holidays and a couple on the injured list both groups went for one big long walk this afternoon.  Duck Dog (previously known as Copper R. or Original Copper), Ryder,  Rover, Frank, Sidney, Sam, Chloe, Ellie, Josie, Everest, Wilbur and R2 enjoyed the sloppy conditions at Southland Park.

The dogs hit the park with a bang and unloading was a bit chaotic as everyone wanted out of the truck and into the park.  Complicating matters was another park user who had to come in the same gate that we were using.  Good thing all the dogs wanted in badly and listened with both ears as I ushered them in.  Rover and Frank were the loudest and let all the park goers know that they were there and ready for action.  Sidney took off like a bolt of lightening and probably lapped the park in the time it took the rest of them to TCB (take care of business).

For most of the walk Josie and R2 were in their own little world but occasionally Sidney would engage R2 in some wrestling and pin him down.  R2 is getting really strong and fast and Sidney had his work cut out for him.  Sidney is always into playing rough until the other guy cries "uncle" and then he stops and finds someone else.  Egging Sidney on was Wilbur.  Wilbur loves a good sparring match and is always ready willing and able to take on the winner.

Wilbur went on his first "big boy" hike over the weekend end with Everest and me.  He was able to not only keep up and he was not even tired when we got home.  Wilbur is one tough pug!

Sam and Chloe were my bffs today.  Both girls hung close to me and occasionally I would feel and wet nose on my hand to remind me that either one of them was there if I needed them.  Even though Ellie is really old she is as spry as a much younger dog and was off doing her own thing -- sniffing and investigating.

A good day despite the weather.
